Then we left them alone for several days and then they started working again. Don't know what the problem was, but they seemed to have fixed themselves. My 5 year old wanted walkie talkies to play with in the house. These are a great option. They are cheap and work well in the house. There is a lot of static, but I didn't want to pay more for a toy. Sometimes it is hard to understand him with the static. They are rather loud, so he can't play with them after his sister goes to bed. But as with any toy, there are restrictions that parents put on them. You get what you pay for. I wanted a toy that he could play with in the house and that's what I got.
