We have a hard time knowing how much pasta to use. This will help. However I do think it is large for actual servings. I use a meal service and tested out their portions for 2 & 4 people. This dial is just a little big. For 2 people, the pasta measured at 1.5 servings in the wheel and for 4 people, the wheel measured less than 3.5. We had leftovers from the meal box with premeasured pasta. I will use those adjusted measurements when I cook from scratch and need to know how much pasta to use.
