I also have a small amount of duct tape wrapped around it to use as a fire starter if needed. Even though BIC lighters float and will generally light if you dry them out, the fireSLEEVE prevents the lighter from discharging all the butane if the gas button gets depressed while in your pocket. ## Features - GAS-LOCK STRAP: The flexible nature of the fireSLEEVE body allowed us to create a strap that holds down the red button. This keeps the lighter on until you slide the strap off with your thumb. Use this when reaching into tight spots. - WATERPROOF: When capped, the fireSLEEVE will float and is waterproof up to 3 ft. of water. The flexible body has a high-grip surface to keep it in your hand when it becomes wet. - COMPATIBILITY: Works with any BIC Classic lighter (not included). Simply pull out the old one and slide in the new. A small dab of silicon grease can be used if necessary. - SAFETY CAP: The cap not only keeps moisture out, but it also protects the red gas button from becoming accidentally depressed in your pack. Not just domestically but even internationally, no issues with the exotac fire sleeve. Unless a lighter is banned from flights (some countries ban common lighters) just remove the lighter. Domestically no issues at all. Buildings with security may ask you to open it to see what it is (many think it could be OC spray). Be sure to use 550 cord or something to secure the top to the bottom. Extotac should quit messing around and make a sleeve for the bic mini. **Q: Does the Bic piezo electronic lighter fit in this case?** A: It’s for standard bic. If you want an e-lighter get one in a case already. **Q: Where is this product manufactured?** A: Thank you for your interest in Exotac! All Exotac items are proudly manufactured in the USA. **Q: Does the case prevent fuel from evaporating in hot weather?** A: I've never had the fuel evaporate from a bic lighter, heat or no heat. It usually happens from the button being inadvertently depressed while in your pocket, due to normal body movement. There is a sleeve on the case that can be pulled under the button to keep it from being depressed. That's how I use it and it has always worked for me. However, by doing this the lighter ain’t coming out… You have to remove the wrap to get them out. I like this one over the orange ones because it’s translucent enough that i can check my fuel level with a flashlight.
