It was for this reason that this amp lived in my basement for a few years. I was just never happy with the way it sounded. I recently revisited this amp and a thought crossed my mind. Maybe it’s not the amp, but perhaps it’s the speaker. Enter the 65 watt Celestion G12 M Cream Back. After a fairly straight forward and easy speaker installation in the cabinet, it completely transformed my amp from a soulless, trebley mess to a full, rich, dynamic sounding amp. I finally have those warm, rich lows the other speaker was lacking yet the highs still sparkle. I’m so glad I decided to rehab this amp.
