Generally speaking, if it has a 1g resolution, it will be less precise than +/- 1g...it's the nature of load sensors. But the scale reading starts from 2grams, and then increments of 1 gram. It NEVER reads the first gram which is 1gram, it starts reading from 2 grams. Too bad.When buying make sure you buy the same product for $37.98 "Kitchen Scale - Bakers Math Kitchen Scale - KD8000 Scale by My Weight, Silver". The Seller/My Weigh didn't send me the AC Adapter along with my scale "My Weigh KD-8000 Kitchen And Craft Digital Scale + My Weigh AC Adapter". Of which it is clearly stated in the name that it comes with an AC Adapter which is why it goes for $49.98. I severally contacted the Supplier/My Weigh about this, they ignored my messages till Amazon intervened. They then responded saying the scale doesn't come with an AC Adapter but that they'll send me one. Ok, why deceive innocent buyers saying it comes with the adapter as indicated by the name and description?
