Review: Working Great! - So far it's working like a charm. I bought this motor and a 12V-75AH batteryfor my Intex Excursion 5. I felt that a 30 lb. motor wouldn't be powerful enough, and a 55 lb. motor would put too much stress on the rear of the boat. I decided to split the difference to go with this 46 lb. I took the boat out with two of my friends for a few hours. The total passenger weight was about 510 lbs. and we cruised the Delaware River at a decent clip. The boat itself is made for up to 5 passengers with a total weight of 1300 lbs. Nothing to do with the motor, but I initially had it too low in the water whick made it much slower. After some online searching with my phone, the props should be 10"-12" below the surface of the water. I made the adjustment and we were cruising. I guess longevity will be the real test, but for now this motor is a winner. Not to mention it's less expensive than the top name brands.
