I was wrong. The planter is very unstable, and there is also nowhere for water to drain out the bottom, so if it rains or if it gets overwatered the water will just sit there.I corrected the problems with my drill and some twine in about 10 minutes, so it wasn't a huge deal, and now the planter looks nice full of herbs on my deck. But the lack of drainage, to my way of thinking, is a definite design flaw. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ GREAT... *by S***N on Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2013* I had no idea that this planter would be as big as it is. I'm loving the size and height. It is easy to assemble. As far as depth, there is plenty of room for roots for a plant to grow. As far as being unstable I see no reason for unstability. The bottom container is plenty big to hold the other two layers. It will not tip over with the bottom filled with dirt. The only reason I gave it a 4 star review is because in the name of this product and also in the description it is supposed to be terracotta in color. The stand I received is green. I would have liked the terracotta better but I'm sure I will enjoy the green. It's not worth the shipping or the time involved in waiting for a replacement. I would recommend this planter to anyone that has a love of planting and being creative and original in the design of gardening. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Nice but not stable *by S***E on Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2011* It is nice plant stand, it has a lot of rooms and looks very nice, however, I have few minor complaining:(1) it is not stable. I had to put it against the wall, because if someone slightly bump into it (I have a toddler always playing in back yard), first top layers will fall very easily. It is very shaky. Having it against the wall has its own disadvantage. Top layers puts shade on lower level, and I have to rotate this thing every other day to make sure plants get equal amount of sun.(2) It is not self drained, so water gets captured at the bottom of each layer and stays there.(3) Because layers are not shape as square, I had to plant plants close to the center to ensure that roots have enough depth room to grow. I could not plant anything close to the edges because it is too shallow for roots.
