Review: Great Lead - I love this lead! I have three dogs, a 65lb husky, a 75lb pit bull and a 40lb pitsky and although I was skeptical at first that it would help give more control during walks, it worked well on my husky and pitsky and does discourage them from pulling hard which makes walking them easier. Before this I was using a regular leash, and my husky would sometimes somehow manage to get unhooked from his leash during walks so this lead took away a lot of worries for me since you loop it around their head. However, if you are looking for a replacement lead for a very strong puller, this might not be best. My pit still powers through and pulls like mad with this lead, and it’s because she has such loose skin around her neck that it won’t sit where it’s supposed to to discourage the pulling. The lead is supposed to rest behind the pup’s ears and above their throat so it doesn’t choke them, and this helps you maneuver them. The quality is good - the lead itself is made of thick rope. I’ve took them on numerous walks and no signs of fraying yet. Had this for about a month now. I would recommend this lead.

I've always used "pinch collars" on my more stubborn dogs, but this works just as well if not better and it doesn't look so mean (like you're an abusive dog parent) around their necks. I know the pinch collars don't hurt the dog, but other people don't always understand that and I've gotten a lot of dirty looks in my day. I digress. Where was I? Oh yah, the slip lead. Keep it up nice and snug right behind the ears. Start out slow just letting them get used to it and know exactly what you want from them. I always start out in the driveway walking around slowly, only putting a slight amount of pressure to pull them in one direction. Once you get them used to the feel of the pressure, then you can take them on a walk. If they start pulling again, just continue to change directions giving them gentle pulls and praising them when they turn the right way. You might look stupid walking around in slow little circles with your dog, but who cares. It works if you just let the dog know what you want. I've cured 110 pound dogs of pulling me down the street with one of these leads.

I love this lead!
