**Q: How does this item work? Does it require batteries?**
A: They take modified AAA batteries. You have to wrap 2 AAA’s in saran wrap then roll out with rolling pin to desired thickness so they fit inside pencil. NO REALLY THEY WORK WELL!  But only if you need the self locating gps turned on.

**Q: Does this support USB 3.0?**
A: No, box clearly says #2 and I don't think they are backwards compatible.

**Q: Do they come already sharpened?**
A: no they don't come sharpened

**Q: WHERE  are Ticondaroger pencils made**
A: in terms of "would you put a Chinese made pencil in your child's mouth?", it would depend on what they did and how angry they made me. These arent made in China though, so if the kids really piss me off, i'll find crappier pencils to stick in their mouths.

When I first received these Ticonderoga pencils, I honestly thought they looked like any regular pack of school pencils, maybe even a bit darker in color than the pictures online. But once I started using them, I quickly understood why teachers always recommend this brand. They sharpen smoothly without splintering, the graphite writes cleanly and consistently, and the erasers actually remove marks without smudging, something rare with cheaper pencils.
