The spray has very little smell and any odor it has fades immediately. I'm not really sure what is meant by "the correct effect". Is the implication that shaking the can is problematic? Too much trouble? Difficult to perform? Or is that a hint on the best way to use the product. That being said I have found this to be the best hairspray on the market and have been using for at least 10 years.
