The foam I ended up just using a long pocket knife to cut it apart. A little bit of a pain but that means sections won't be coming off later. If you're going to use this with the Yamaha MG10XU (which they advertise this as fitting) there are a couple of things you need to be aware of. First is that you're going to pretty much take all the foam out in order to get your power supply in there too. Second is that the case is a little bit too tall inside. On the plus side for that I ended up packing seven 3' XLR cables and a USB cable under my mixer and it all fits without having to cram the lid shut. Overall it is a very good case and I expect to be using it years from now.
