Since 1939, when Duralex invented the glass tempering process, the name Duralex has been associated with resilient glassware, thanks to their proprietary tempering process. The original tempered (toughened) picardie glasses are still in production in France and are known as the β€œoriginal french tumblers.” The picardie glass is the perfect weight: functional yet stylish and feels extremely comfortable in the hand. They are equally suitable for cold or hot drinks, conveniently stackable, impact and chip resistant, microwave and dishwasher safe. With the help of continuous investments and commitment to quality, Duralex has reached a level of excellence that makes its products recognized throughout the world. Duralex is and will always remain a true french manufacturer of glassware and tabletop products, and is the only glass manufacturer that makes 100-percent of their products in France. Cleaning :Wash before use. Soak the dish in soapy water for 20 minutes. Do not use metallic sponges, pads, powders or abrasives. To remove hard water stains, try vinegar. If this doesn't work, we suggest trying a hard water product called LemiShine which can be found at the local grocery store. Then trying soaking your glassware in LemiShine and warm water. Review: Perfect - I loved them. a little bit bigger than what I thought but good quality for the price Review: Worth every penny! - So far, so awesome. I bought these after it came to my attention that nearly ALL ceramic, stoneware and porcelain dishware is made using lead, and can and will leach lead into your food in some amount. This was immediately after getting a beautiful, intricate set (Temptations Floral Lace in dark blue, for those of you familiar) so I was really disappointed. All US-sold products (even imported) must adhere to FDA's guidelines for lead levels, but still.. I'd much rather no toxic chemicals in any amount in my son's food, thank you. I started looking into glass dishes because they are not made with lead, cadmium, etc and I was still mourning the loss of my pretty dish set because well, glass just looked so plain in comparison. I looked at a bunch of brands and many people said they broke or cracked easily, drops, pouring hot liquids, etc. Then I found these. I was hesitant because they were much more pricey, but I went with the 6 piece in Lys 6 3/4" stackable bowls, Lys 9 1/4" plates and Cosy 12oz coffee mugs to start, figuring it wasn't THAT much of an investment. Boy, am I glad I did! I can't say much for longevity yet, but durability, heck yes! Night #1 while doing initial washing, I dropped a plate in my stainless steel sink, cringing but realizing no break or cracks.. Good to go! Then I figured well if it was a porcelain sink, it may have been toast. We've been using the dishes for about a week now and in my clumsiness while making coffee with a melita dripper just now, I knocked two cups off our tile countertop onto our ceramic tile floor. They both hit the floor, clanked off each other, and did not break or crack! I'm sold. Also, the simplicity of the set is actually pretty nice. It lets your coffee or food be the focal point which is more enjoyable, much to my surprise. They're also much easier to clean than intricate sets with raised detailing. I'll stop gushing now, was just so impressed with the survival of the mugs' tumble! Buy these! They're worth the extra $$! ## Features - Lys 6 piece set includes 6;75 inch stackable clear bowls - Made in France since 1939, by the company that invented tempered glass - Duralex is 2-1/2 times more resistant to breakage, sudden thermal shock and chipping than normal glass - Duralex glass is very hygienic: it is non-porous and does not absorb liquids, colors or flavors; Lead free, cadmium free, and BPA free - Dishwasher, fridge and microwave safe; products maintain the original look for years ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B008CD5UKC | | Best Sellers Rank | #223,971 in Kitchen ( See Top 100 in Kitchen ) #408 in Bowl Sets | | Bowl Material | Glass | | Bowl material | Glass | | Brand | Duralex | | Brand Name | Duralex | | Capacity | 32.75 Fluid ounces | | Color | Glass | | Colour | Glass | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 745 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00080576020640 | | Included Components | 6 Bowls | | Is the item dishwasher safe? | Yes | | Is the item microwaveable? | Yes | | Item Dimensions W x H | 38.1W x 38.1H centimeters | | Item Type Name | B008CD5UKC | | Item Weight | 5.8 Pounds | | Manufacture Year | 1939 | | Manufacturer | Duralex | | Manufacturer Part Number | 2026AF06/6 | | Material Type | Glass | | Model Number | 2026AF06/6 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Pieces | 6 | | Number of pieces | 6 | | Occasion | Housewarming | | Other Special Features of the Product | Dishwasher, Lead Free, Microwave Safe | | Pattern | Hearts | | Product Care Instructions | Wash before use, soak in soapy water for 20 minutes, avoid metallic sponges, pads, powders, or abrasives, use vinegar or LemiShine for hard water stains | | Product Style | Classic | | Recommended Uses For Product | Soup, Salad, Dessert, Fruit, Noodle, Dip | | Set Name | Lys | | Shape | Circle | | Size | 6.75" | | Special features | Dishwasher, Lead Free , Microwave Safe | | Specific Uses For Product | Dessert, Dip, Fruit, Noodle, Salad, Soup | | Style | Classic | | Theme | French River Lys | | UPC | 735343396823 793842109443 080576020640 | | Unit Count | 6 Count | ## Product Details - **Bowl material:** Glass - **Brand:** Duralex - **Colour:** Glass - **Number of pieces:** 1 - **Style:** Classic ## Images ![Duralex Glass Made In France Lys 6-3/4-Inch Stackable Clear Bowl, Set of 6 - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51XGRvl6r6L.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect *by N***Y on 4 May 2020* I loved them. a little bit bigger than what I thought but good quality for the price ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth every penny! *by J***P on 23 April 2016* So far, so awesome.
