The cooking time is roughly 3 minutes and I am able to use my Keurig for hot water. That's a lot faster than ramen noodles. These noodles are very similar to "regular" pho. I have used these with regular pho broth (made a lot and froze the broth in small containers) when making a single serving instead of prepping a large pho bag. I *by N***M on May 28, 2019* I love pho and have made it from scratch at home but sometimes I’m craving it and I don’t have the time and energy to buy the ingredients and simmer everything for a few hours. With the whole chickens, herbs, and spices it gets very expensive. This is the perfect convenience food! It’s basically like the ubiquitous instant ramen and it’s cooked in the same way. I pour boiling water from my kettle over the noodles and add the flavor packet and oil. While the noodles are cooking I like to chop up random herbs I have on hand, as well as lime. The add ins help to give it that homemade taste and you can tailor it to your own preferences. The broth itself is so flavorful and it’s not too salty or strong which I really like. The noodles are your classic rice noodles and they taste much lighter than ramen noodles if you are comparing instant noodle types. The oil gives it a nice savory and umami flavor that you can easily leave off if you want it healthier but I prefer the flavors and I don’t mind the extra calories. It’s so good! I see myself reordering this when I run out.
