Review: Survived a windstorm! - So last summer my partner and I were invited to go to a remote island on one of Canada’s largest lakes (Great Slave Lake). And when I say isolated, I mean isolated. The boat ride alone took over four hours one way. I’m a glamper. I like the creature comforts of home. I also am a pillow princess and knew I’d need to have a comfy bed in lieu of sleeping with only two pillows (I usually sleep with ten). I decided to order this cot after tons of research between different brands. I’m glad I did. It set up super easy and was light yet sturdy. Now it’s nothing compared to a high end mattress if you’re used to that, but it got the job done. And when I woke up in the middle of the night being swallowed by our tent during a violent windstorm, the cot was the only things still intact. Our entire site nearly flattened, my sanity on the brink for hours inside a flattened tent enduring the storm, and out of everything else the cot faired the best. If I ever go to Burning Man, this is what I’m bringing!

Have not used in field yet, but cot held my 230 lb, 6' 4" (193 cm) frame well. My head and feet are just at the ends of the cot. Sideways sleeping was fine directly on the cot (without a sleeping pad or bag). Easy to disassemble and stores well in the provided stuff sack. After being on it for about 20 minutes in various positions, didn't notice and significant stretching or sag. I expect some over time with use. This might not be the strongest or lightest weight cot, but for car camping or bike camping it packs small and travels well. I wouldn't take it backpacking, as space and weight are a premium. This appears to be a real gem re: value versus cost. Time will tell regarding quality. -----------------UPDATE-------------------- Tried in the field and works well. No permanent sagging or stretch for my 230 lb body. My only complaint is that my inflatable foam mattress easily slid around on the cot with tossing and turning. Often woke up with the mattress half-off the cot. I am sure I could come up with a set-up to reduce this.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Why does the black version have different supports than the other colors?**
A: Don't know but I return my purchase after it broke during a camping trip, first use. If you toss or turn while sleeping it will collapse and break! If the ground is not level it will collapse and break! Spend the extra money on some thing better.

**Q: two questions:  Are the legs adjustable for uneven ground?  And has anyone put a 30 inch foam mattress on it?**
A: Legs are not adjustable. Just look for a reasonably flat section of ground when you pitch your tent and you'll be fine. My husband and I slept on these in just sleeping bags and were fine. Haven't tried any foam mattress on top of it-- not necessary for comfort, they're good on their own, but a piece of foam would probably make the cots quieter to sleep on. Every time you shift around in your sleep the cot fabric kinda squeaks.

**Q: Does this work well being a 6 foot man? or does your feet hang off at the end?**
A: This will not fit a 6ft. Person. I am 5'8" and it is perfect. Note that the cot is only 6" off the floor so if you are one to hang your feet off the end it would work!

**Q: what are the actual widths of the cots?**
A: About 27 1/2"
