I am primarily using it in my roots for touch ups between full dye jobs. I have med/dark brown hair naturally and it is pin straight and very long. The dye goes on quick and easy with a little pouch that contains both the color and the developer separated so when you pour it out they combine. It says "shampoo" on the box, but it is definitely a dye. (there are 10 pouches in the box and at $10 that makes them each a dollar and it says the color is supposed to last for 4 weeks!) I put the color on right before my shower (you might want to do like I did and use better latex gloves because the ones it comes with are very thin and this stuff STAINS!) and I left it on for the full 15 minutes. It doesn't smell all that great so I shampooed and conditioned like normal and once dry my hair smelled great, was so dark black and shiny like I just stepped out of the salon! That was a week ago and it continues to look like it did the day I put it on! I completely recommend this product for both its value and performance.
