There were little holes in each piece. I can't remember if there were plugs covering it or not, but I just poured bleach on the inside , laid it outside for it to soak, flipped it over after a few hours, and then rinsed it out with water. :) Hope this helps. **Q: Can my 3yr old fit her tiny furnitures inside/decorate & freely move around?** A: There is not a LOT of room inside the playhouse. I suggest you use the dimensions given for the playhouse, setup the toy furniture within the given area and judge for yourself. It went together fairly easily since my husband is good at this. The directions aren’t great but it took us longer to figure out where the decals went. It did arrive with a small dent in one of shutters but not a huge deal. This house reminds me a lot of the one we bought for our daughter 30 years ago. I’m sure the kids will have years of fun in it.
