An office move freed up a sit/stand desk and so it would be made available to any employee on a first come-first served basis. Ever since there was an office retrofit a few years back she was raving about her sit/stand desk and I was jealous. On the heels of the retrofit came the pandemic and she was home for more than two years until the recent RTW plan took shape. I started looking at them online and almost pulled the trigger a time or two because I had heard about how standing desks help with fitness, posture, and other activity. My Apple Watch agrees because on most days I'd tally 8 or less hours with a stand registration despite being up for about 18 hours. So I received my new desk a few weeks ago and have sat on two of the days, for a maximum of two hours (total). The rest has been standing. My office is in the basement, so the floor surface is stained, poured concrete with less than (zero) give.
