My whole house is hardwood cleans it great. Does the whole house in about 30 min. Does not scratch or damage floors **Q: Does magnetic tape work to keep out of an area?** A: In my experience the tape does not work very well, at least on carpet. The vacuum pushes the tape slightly every time it bumps into it and eventually it pushes it into the area you're trying to avoid. For us, we're trying to keep the Shark out from underneath our recliners where it gets stuck 90% of the time.
