You put 2 liters of water and 2 rocks in a jug. after 10 hours you pour the water into the bowl. but there will be remaining water in the jug that will sit longer than 10 hours. is this ok? **Q: I've used these in the spring/summer so far. Is it as important to use over winter (cold climate) or is the grass less susceptible to burn in winter?** A: I use it year round. I figured it can't be good for the grass to drink that anytime of the year. I don't know however if the grass changes it sensitivity in the winter. **Q: I have 7+ dogs in my home daily so we use a 4 gallon water dispenser. How many packs of rocks do you think we would need? I have to refill it weekly.** A: I’d probably try 2 or 3 packages. I think that would be about 6 or 9 rocks total. I do not think you’ll need to replace them as often as the directions recommend.
