Howard set out to solve this dilemma: how can you eliminate blemishes in wood finishes and restore the original color and luster without removing any of the existing finish? Unable to find an answer at his local hardware store, he went to work in his garage to create his own product. His goal was to make something that would be much more than a surface treatment, yet nothing like a stripper or a refinisher. I've used it to dramatic and fantastic effect. Great stuff! **Q: what to use to clean wood first and then after the application of restor a finish** A: I dust first. If it's really bad, I use Howard OrangeOil Wood Polish first. The Restore-A-Finish actually cleans as you use it. **Q: Would you recommend this color for a teak dining table? I'm not sure if the other finishes would work better.** A: I wouldn't, I would go darker on teak. This stuff does not really add any color like a stain would. I have used golden oak for kitchen oak cabinets, and dark oak for 25 year old Minwax 230 Early American stained oak trim, and cherry for an antique cherry dininig room table and they all did not "darken" anything.
