Its just a grinder but you can select very coarse to super fine grinds. Think anywhere from peppercorn to mid grind to sand/powder fine for turkish coffee. So medium ground coffee you could put in an aeropress if thats what you meant but the entire grinder isnt meant to combine with anything. **Q: Can this coffee grinder be used to grind pepper corns?** A: YES!! That’s exactly what I bought mine for. I was using and electric blade type grinder and was very unhappy with the gross inconsistencies in the ground pepper…everything from powder to whole peppercorns. This burr grinder solves that problem. The grind is consistently uniform in size. I grind a little as I begin cooking and season from the reservoir. Highly, highly recommended!! **Q: Where is the Adjusting Wheel to get fine coffee powder?** A: There are two segments to the grinder: an upper section with a hopper for beans or peppercorns that has a drive shaft running the length of, terminating at the bottom of that section where it engages the grinding mechanism. Fill the hopper with what you wish to grind and fit the metal cap over the top so the drive nut protrudes above cap. Remove the lower section of the grinder…it’s just a receptacle, another hopper, for the ground material. Look at the bottom of the top section. You’ll see a threaded nut with with a plastic flange in the center. This is what adjusts the grind…how fine or course it is. Turning it clockwise produces a finer grind, counter clockwise a more course grind. Fit the included handle to the end of the shaft above the cap over the hopper. Grind a small portion of the hopper contents onto a plate or paper towel where they are readily visible. Adjust the grind size to your satisfaction tightening or loosening the nut at the bottom of the hopper. Add an additional 1/4 inch (or 6 mm) locknut under the set screw below the burr. This will lick the burr in place and deliver consistent grind time after time. Insert the square end of a 1/4 inch socket for 1/4 inch nut. This will fit a 1/4 inch hex adapter for your cheap cordless screwdriver to turn the burr and grind away. I can grind 20 gram beans to finest dust (espresso quality) in under a minute (approx 220 revolutions … ouch). I have bought 3 ($9.99 each) so I never have to fiddle with any adjustments. One each for fine, medium, and coarse grind! Beats the high end fancy grinder (80$ and up, with strapless grind, walnut wood knobs and hand polished exterior etc) into a silly pulp. Invest in a bulb type air blower to clean the interiors which get coated with chaff and broken coffee beans. I spray beans with about 1/2 ml of water before loading into the grinder. Eliminates static problem. I also store my beans in dark glass under vacuum, this may sound complicated but it is not.
