Review: Cant beat this - Okay, I was a bit worried because of the mixed reviews on this one, but kezurikis are expensive in the United States and this had a good price on it so I made the purchase. It came in Japanese packaging and has Japanese instructions (Google Translate has a photo mode for text if anyone is wondering). I felt satisfied that this was in fact an authentic kezuriki. The product itself was perfect, no scratches, no gaps in the wood joints. It is made from a light wood (reflects the price) so I suspect those who had issues can trace it back to humidity/heat rather than the woodworking. I haven't shaved bonito just yet, but after inspecting/touching the chisel blade, I don't think there will be any issues here. I'll leave this at 5 stars and will come back and update this review if I hit any issues. Review: Seems to shave well enough, lid arrived defective - This seems to work pretty well. I was able to make 60 grams of flakes fairly quickly. I used a truncheon-shaped wooden tamper for adjustment. Remove the blade section for adjustment, not the box. That’s not very well made, and in fact I had to glue one edge of the box on arrival. Got it in December and it sat on a shelf until today.
