Review: Very Heavy Duty - Great Product - I purchased these, recommended by 4X4 enthusiasts. I gold prospect in some pretty rough terrain, getting stuck in the desert by myself, I resorted to what was at hand to get unstuck! After that experience, I knew I needed more help than just tumble weeds, to become unstuck! These traction boards are more than I expected. The rigid boards are made with many bumps and protrusions, that help tires get a grip on the boards. The quality was amazing, even though these are one step down from the top of the line. Thankfully, I haven't had to.use them yet, to get out of "sticky" situations. I did use one like a "shovel," to see how well the advertised use would be. Yes, at least with.sand and soft dirt, you can move a lot of dirt. Straps are provided, you attached to the boards, for easy retrieval after use. The boards may get covered with dirt and hard to find otherwise, the straps are bright international orange (easy to see).
Review: Awesome recovery board, but pricy. - Great boards, will not break after one use like a lot of the alternative cheaper boards. If you need them and are alone off roading, these are my choice. You get what you pay for.

**Q: Do i need 2 set of these for all 4 wheels or a single set is more than enough?**
A: Most of us only use one set as you usually don't have all four wheels stuck at once, and it's more effective to combine with recovery from another vehicle (snatch strap, winch). But I would recommend two sets if you often go out alone, especially in extreme conditions. Otherwise I'd say one set is fine.

**Q: What makes MaxTrax twice as good as TRED's since they cost twice as much?   They're both made in Austrailia .**
A: Our product is made of UV stabilized, flexible, super tough engineering-grade reinforced nylon. **Q: Reviews of another brand repeatedly warns of the risks of melting the points should you spin the tires at all.  Is there a similar concern with these?**
A: The concern is spinning your tires.   The points are actually designed to melt as to not damage the tire.  I heard this from a maxtraxx rep at an expo.

**Q: Can these be flipped over and used to help level your truck/camper? Could you stack them for extra height?**
A: When using them to level a vehicle, we recommend placing them right side up (teeth up as if you were using them to recover a vehicle). Stacking them together is advised to add more support and rigidity.

I was tempted to save some money by getting one of the cheaper options that are essentially copies of Maxtrax boards but in the end decided that when it came to recovery gear, I wanted to make sure I had gear that I knew I could count on when I really needed it. As soon as I received these, I knew that spending the extra money to get the real deal instead of a knockoff was worth it. There is nothing cheap or plastic feeling about these boards. I have no concerns about them under the weight of my truck and holding up when I need them. I thankfully have not needed them yet but feel very confident in their ability when I do.
