A: I have the soft pins and use them in my Goldendoodle and standard poodle. It works fine. Fluffs up the curls on my poodle.

A: My brush pins are in no way over an inch. More like a half -3/4 inch.

A: This is the larger brush with long pins for dogs with long hair. Works well

**Q: What pin size and firmess is recommend for Golden Retriever**
A: A groomer could tell you, we have a standard poodle and this worked great for here

I groom dogs. This brush is softer than a lot of brushes of this type. It is gentler on the skin. It doesn't "grab" the matts quite as well as other stiffer versions, however it definitely gets the job done! It also doesn't scratch the dog's skin nearly as much, which is more important to me. Some dogs are more sensitive and can't handle the stiffer pinned brushes.
