I have 3 labradoodles and have always kept their coats short because most slicker brushes don't go deep enough to prevent matting when their coats become long. This brush does the job and does it well. I have an elderly girl who's coat has thinned and tends to have sensitive skin, of my 3 she was the only one who didn't like it but to be fair she doesn't care for any brushing unless it's done by hand (petting her) Having 3 labradoodles can become costly when it comes to professional grooming and I'm glad that I decided to invest in a nice set of clippers and a few blades as well as guards (andis agc 2 speed, cuts like butter even through matting), a grooming table found on local resale site for $30, good shampoo (Plum silky concentrated conditioning shampoo) this shampoo smells amazing and keeps them smelling nice for over a week and since it's concentrated a bottle really last so I find it more economical than the cheap ones found at most retailers. Oh, also purchased a pet blow dryer for under 100 that is amazing. This brush was the last thing I needed to complete what I feel is necessary to keep my trio looking, smelling, and feeling their best. The cost i incurred is about equivalent to taking all 3 to a groomer. For those who think they can't do it, you can. Especially if you've got a dog or dogs that require a lot of grooming needs (doodles, poodles, etc) if you messaged up, it's ok! Their hair grows pretty quickly and unlike us humans their egos aren't an issue.
