Review: Great design, everything in 1 package - This sprouter works with very small seeds like alfalfa, broccoli and quinoa seeds, as well as larger seeds like mung beans and garbanzos. Included are 2 cups - an outer cup and the inner cup which slides inside of the outer cup. The two cups are designed so that you can lower the inner cup into the outer cup, pour the seeds in and the water, and soak the seeds. And, after soaking, turn the inner cup inside the outer cup so that it lifts up, creating a larger space for water to drain into the outer cup when doing the daily rinses. And you can also lift the inner cup all the way out of the outer cup and water drains out of its bottom drain very fast. For tiny seeds, this sprouter has an extra fine strainer which snaps into the bottom of the inner cup to prevent the tiny seeds from falling through. I was brand spankin' new to sprouting when I ordered my first Easy Sprout Sprouter. At the same time, I ordered a jar with a plastic drain cap One Quart Glass Sprouter Jar w/ Sprouting Strainer Lid: Grow Sprouts: Includes 2 Oz. Organic Alfalfa Sprout Seeds & Sprouting Instructions , and the Sprout Garden with is a 3-tray system Sprout Garden - 1 pc,(Handy Pantry) so that I could see which I liked best. All 3 grew great sprouts. But between these 3 choices, the Easy Sprout Sprouter won for me because it offers the easiest and the quickest way to drain the rinse water. I sent the Sprout Garden back because I found it to be the most time consuming to drain of the 3, and kept the jar as an extra soaker/sprouter for small seeds. As other reviewers have mentioned, this sprouter doesn't take a lot of room, yet it offers a good amount of sprout growing space. I love 'em. Just ordered my 3rd Easy Sprout Sprouter because we eat and juice a variety of sprouts each day now.
Review: TRIED THEM ALL, THIS IS THE *BEST* Great for this Texas humid heat! - Easy Sprout Sprouter I've sprouted for 40 years (starting with my grandmother) with varying degrees of success. The single tray systems did all right but sometimes I'd have a problem with the seeds/sprouts souring. It's been a while since I tried using those; maybe I was not diligent enough with rinsing. I'll try them again. I used the Victorio 3-tray sprouting system Victorio Crop Sprouter ; I love the concept and really really wanted it to work well. But I had to keep unclogging the drains when using small seed crops and there definitely WAS a problem with the seeds souring and having to be thrown out even though I followed the instructions to the letter (and then even tried rinsing more). Did the mason jar, sprouting pads, etc. Then I saw this product & after reading all the reviews thought I'd give it a go; the price is certainly right especially with the cost of sprouts at the supermarket! And I couldn't be more thrilled---it's so EASY (like the name suggests), NO souring (just rinse every 12 hours in the perforated cup), & the way it's set up, it gets the right amount of air to grow (and not sour), and for example, 2 tablespoons of alfalfa seeds yields a half pound of fabulous crispy sprouts. The included instructions were a bit lacking although the instructions to drain the sprouts by putting the container in an old stocking and swinging it around 15 times was FABULOUS and one I really recommend. As for detailed instructions I liked the videos at sproutpeople.org which I happened to come across after buying this sprouter here on desertcart. They offer lots of help and good advice on all the sprouters, too. THE BOTTOM LINE....I'm going to order 3 more Easy Sprout Sprouters because I eat all my sprouts up before new ones are ready! UPDATE: For the ones that have "mold" or "souring" issues I think it's because of incomplete/unclear and incorrect instructions provided with the sprouter. The following example is for alfalfa seeds....tips may need to be adjusted slightly for other seed types, and this sprouter does not do "gelatinous seed" sprouts like arugula and cress). Use basic instructions included with your sprouter, but do the following: 1. Soak seeds 12 hours in COOL (not cold) water (do not use WARM, even though that's what the EZSprout instructions say)! At the end of 12 hour soak, drain and rinse with more cool water. Final drain by spinning (described above), because excess retained moisture also causes molding and souring. Put drain cup in "raised" position to get necessary air flow. Use vented dome lid. 2. 12 hours later, rinse well in COOL water. Be sure the water is getting through the entire mass including the center. Final drain by spinning. 3. 12 hours later, dump the sprouts from the small cup with the drainage holes out into the large cup and fill it 3/4 with COOL water almost to top and gently break up the mass with a fork or your (washed) fingers. You want to keep the seeds "fluffed" because sprouting seeds CREATE HEAT and they need to be cooled down when growing. Dump seeds back in drainage cup. Final drain by spinning. 4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 until sprouts are ready to be eaten. I HIGHLY recommend you see the video at sproutpeople.org, especially if you have had any problems. You may likely end up buying more EZ Sprout Sprouters like I am, because they really do work the best.

**Q: How do i prevent my broccoli seeds from growing mold?  i've tried citric acid, dark closet, rinsing throughout the day, etc.  details please.  thx**
A: Without knowing more details, it's likely that you are not getting the seeds/sprouts dry enough to prevent mold. Make sure that you spin the seeds/sprouts until nearly all water is expelled: You should have seeds/sprouts that are all but dry.

**Q: Dishwasher safe?**
A: Don't wash it in a dishwasher.  All you need to do is simply remove all the sprouts, their roots and any left over seed coats, and give it a rinse with water, then fill it with water and put in a small amount of bleach to sterilize it, let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse it out several times again, and it is ready to be used again.  No soap.  Soap might inhibit the seeds from sprouting.

**Q: I'm having trouble knowing how to use this as the directions are not very clear.  I'm trying to sprout fenugreek seeds. Where do the seeds go?**
A: Hmmm. The directions, I thought, were pretty clear. It's been a while since I used mine for broccoli sprouts....  but your seeds will stay in the inner container (after the rinsing and shaking process) for proper aeration, humidity and moisture. And that's where they'll begin sprouting.

**Q: Is this made of plastic? BPA free?**
A: The Easy Sprout is made of High Density Polyethylene (Fortiflex® T50-3600 HDP) - which is one of the few non-leaching plastics. It is BPA free and also Kosher!!

This sprouter works with very small seeds like alfalfa, broccoli and quinoa seeds, as well as larger seeds like mung beans and garbanzos. Included are 2 cups - an outer cup and the inner cup which slides inside of the outer cup. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Super Easy for Sprouting & Cleaning

This is my third Easy Sprouter, and all are in use on my counter constantly. Easy Sprouter is THE easiest to use and clean of any sprouter I've ever used, and I've used at least 6 others. Just soak seeds, beans or grain, then rinse & drain. Rinse & drain thoroughly twice a day till done. I've had failures with other sprouters, even following directions perfectly. The only 'crop' failures I've had with ES were totally my fault, like forgetting to rinse & drain for several days (tho it's forgiving enough I've been able to save a few of those). My Easy Sprouters also take up the least room for the most sprouts. One of them is four years old and still works great. I use them for leafy sprouts, and to hull, about the 3rd day dump them in a big bowl, pour cold water in and swish vigorously but gently to loosen and remove the hulls, then grab a handful of sprouts, rotate your handful quickly in the center of the bowl to clear hulls away, and pull out fast, putting them into the inner sprouting cup. Do that with the rest and you've quickly & easily removed most of the hulls. I sprout almost all beans I'll be cooking, or making into hummus, as it increases nutrition drastically, and takes the place of soaking. I also sprout then freeze sprouted beans in freezer bags, so I can make a bean dish, depending on bean type & recipe, in 30 min to a couple hours cooking/total time. Easy Sprouter works great for sprouting grain, I like to add sprouted white wheat, millet, brown rice, amaranth, quinoa, barley... singly or combinations, to salads, smoothies, breakfast cereals raw or cooked, soups and stews. We also tend to just munch sprouted grains as is, they're sweet, tasty & chewy. You can also sprout mixed grains & beans, we like a mix of rice and 3 types of beans for a soup/stew (I often start the beans, then soak & add grains a day later). I also sprout Mung beans a little longer than suggested to get a long root and shoot, tho I'd need to use heavy weight to try for the heavy 'bean sprout' root & stem. Cleaning is easy, just like washing a couple large tumblers, I always hand wash them. Several of the other sprouters I've had, I needed to cut, scrub and pick off roots from screens, and scrub awkward areas, taking a long time to clean them thoroughly. Need I say I recommend Easy Sprouter highly? I just wish I could buy the small seed screens separately, I've lost one.
