I got them for use in a leather Kindle Paperwhite cover, to turn it on and off when opened and closed. Worked like a charm. A note came with the magnets with a link to a couple of youtube videos that contain info on how to separate the magnets, and how to rejoin them safely. You have to hold the stack vertically next to a sharp edge like a counter top, with the top magnet just above the edge, and then push it off, hanging on to it until you get it several inches away (or it snaps back, probably shattering.)
