Having the camera on my belt allowed easy access any time a photo opp came up. The elastic strap to hold it closed made it quick to take the camera out for a shot. The zipper closure made the case secure. It is a hard shell construction that protected the camera well. There is no extra storage for a spare battery or even a spare memory card but I found I only changed the battery once during the day and it was not inconvenient.
