## Questions & Answers

**Q: What's an estimate on the time it takes to build a first invention?**
A: We estimate 30-60 minutes per challenge.  I usually have kids start with Challenge #3: "Build a machine that draws curvy lines."  You will find step-by-step instructions for that Challenge on page 14 of the printed guide that comes with the Catalyst.  We also have a video that shows the steps on our website.

Once Tinkerers have completed Challenge #3 they'll have a good understanding of the components in the kit and how they work, and can invent their own solutions to the other Challenges.  Or make up their own unique inventions!

**Q: Is this something that can be taken apart, so new things can be built?**
A: Yes!  The kit comes with 10 Challenge Cards, each of which presents a challenge that can be met with the parts in the kit. So after you have completed Challenge 4 (Make a ride for one of your toys) you can take it apart and try Challenge 8 (Invent a robot that moves without wheels). One of our favorite sayings is "If you have parts, make something.  And if you have something, take it apart!"

A: It comes with batteries holder.  I don't remember if it comes with batteries.
