Selina's first cookbook is a work of culinary magic! The recipes are thoughtfully written, the photos absolutely stunning and the stories of her cooking and travels to the islands in the Indian Ocean are so heartwarming. As soon as I saw the first recipe, a sticky garlic and ginger chicken I knew I had to cook it first! It was just as mouth-watering and finger-licking delicious as it looked in her book. I also made the coconut rice from the book, which was also yummy. The steps were so easy to follow and I can't wait to cook more recipes from the book!

Wow, what a refreshing cook book! The ingredients and recipes are easy to follow for an inexperienced cook like me but the flavours are amazing!! I love that some of the recipes involve leaving ingredients to marinate overnight, it means that you can do some of your meal prep the night before which is very handy when you are tired after a long day and don’t want to spend ages preparing then cooking a meal. No fancy equipment needed and it is exciting to use fresh ingredients with a tropical twist. I’m looking forward to working my way through all the recipes of this book.

This book is sheer delight. When it arrived I spent a good morning flicking through the book's pages marking out which recipes I wanted to make, each is more mouth-watering than the next.Selina is a self-taught, honing her craft for a decade, which makes this book and recipes so special. So much thought and love has gone into creating this book.I love that it's shining a light on the smaller islands in the Indian Ocean. The book is a lesson in history, culture and stories of migration told through food.And have I made any of the recipes? Yes, the pineapple upside down cake is a dream, more so when it's drenched on a rum-soaked caramel sauce.
