But, there clearly are still people who wish to produce print zines and there is certainly no reason to not do it. So, if you want a zine process and resource history lesson or if you want to know how to produce your own zine, this book will be of great help.The book covers a lot of 'how to' that is clearly stated and easy to follow. There are also plenty of anecdotes from either the author's perspective or those of his acquaintances. So, you get a good idea of what you are getting yourself into if you should decide to do a zine. And if you simply want to know what the daily grind of zine-making is about, you get plenty of that.Topics covered include how to get started with your concept, how to realize it into printable form, how to get that printed, and how to distribute it or get it distributed. Copyright and trademark issues are also covered. Many examples of zines are offered as well as many people or places to contact for further information.I highly recommend this book for those in cultural studies with an emphasis on DIY (do-it-yourself) culture. I also recommend to to teachers who may wish to do a zine project with their students.
