A: Thank you for your interest.  The soleplate measures approximately 4.75 inches wide at it's widest point, by 9 inches long.

**Q: Is this self cleaning**
A: It has a auto clean button

**Q: Does the water level need to be at max to use the mister?**
A: No.

**Q: does this have a swivel cord..so dont get in the way when ironing?**
A: It's cord swivels somewhat, but it's more for wrapping the cord around the base when you want to store the iron than for convenience while ironing.  The cord does swivel a little but not as much as I had hoped.
