According to the manufacturer, Green Bell, they are made in Japan in Seki City, which is known for very high quality blades. The Green Bell website notes problems with one of their brands, TAKUMINOWAZA, being counterfeited in China. They are no longer shipping that brand to china as a result. **Q: Has anyone used this for a substantial (more than a year) length of time, and if so, how sharp has it remained? Cutting performance is still good?** A: I have used the Seki Edge SS-106 fingernail for over a year now and it's still as good as the day I bought it. I have hard, brittle fingernails. I was very hesitant about paying $15 for a fingernail clipper, but in retrospect after over a year of use, I am not disappointed.
