Review: Fits great, perfect padding, wonderful replacement for my no-name wide board - I was wary from reading other reviews, but I was desperate to find a replacement cover for my no-name 2002 Walmart(?) wide ironing board. The original cover was a natural colored twill with a foam backing. However, the foam backing was dried out and falling through the surface's grids...had to find something but nothing in the stores fit my 48x18" board. Good ol' desertcart--I want to rename you Amazin'! This cover is superior to my original because it has the silvery slick surface for ironing and the padding is better than my original board's. I love my board because it's wide and very tall. This cover, although it fits up to 49", still adjusts snugly for my 48" board. The "shoulders" are at the exact right place--though because the cover has a drawstring closure, it should fit boards that taper at different places than mine. Note that the cover has little perforation holes which I didn't realize, but seems fine. I was certain from others' reviews that I'd need some sort of additional pad--but NO. This is fine all by itself to prevent any grid marks from coming through. (what are you guys ironing on--sheepskin?!) I was also worried that this "upscale" brand cover wouldn't work with my good old Walmart board--but it's perfect. It also comes with a little rubber band type bungee cord. I didn't really need to add it, but didn't want to just throw it out, so I did. I think most people will be very happy with this product and am SO glad I overlooked some of the negative reviews. (and it came in 2 days!)

## Questions & Answers

**Q: This is only the cover or come with a pad?**
A: This is a cover with a small amount of padding already built into the back of it.  I did not buy another pad.

**Q: Is it washable?**
A: I have washed my standard size (49x14) in cold water gentle cycle. I use a cold air electric drying rack and slipped it on the board before it was totally dryer to make sure it didn't shrink. I put it on the board finished side down so the padding was exposed to the air and would not get bunched up or possibly musty while it finished drying. I didn't need to iron so I left it for another day before I put it back on the board again. It did not seem to negitively effect the cover. I have always had a front loading machine I I did not add any other laundry. It was at least 5 years old when I washed it.Hope this helps, Samantha

**Q: can someone please tell me the size o this pad.  mine is so worn out but can't find one that fits my 54X18 ironing board**
A: My guess is that it will fit...product is 53.2 inches in length and you must cut it to fit. Place material on floor and ironing board face down on top of it. Trace outline with marker, remove ironing board and cut. You will be just a little short, I think. Other alternative is to find some heavy felt, like a 1/4 inch thick at a fabric or upholstery shop and trace your ironing board like I said above. For that is all this is....a large piece of felt.

Most substantial ironing board I have used as an adult. It reminds me of the ironing board we had growing up in the sixties that was actually welded together & practically indestructible! I highly recommend it! Also, I prefer this type of cover that seems to last longer.
