I'd get non translucent dice. It's difficult to see the dots. And maybe that's because we all wear glasses? I dunno. I didn't realize you can see the dots from the other side of the die so you have to look hard. If you are looking for pretty translucent dice... these are fabulous! If you have bad eyesight and are playing a fast pace game like Tenzi... don't get translucent dice. I got exactly what I ordered. Each color is stunning. They're honestly really beautiful. I wish they were a little smaller, but they're the perfect size for multi-purpose gaming. My father-in-law said the yellow dice are hard to read, but I disagree. (He's colorblind, and I will admit that the contrast isn't as stark as it is on the other colors.) I'm not a fan of the clear ones with the multi-colored dots; they don't match. I'd prefer either a different color (red? ice blue?) or just clear dice with dots all the same color.
