Review: Great for Hair - I am guilty for having being quite cruel to my once healthy, thick and long manageable hair. Permanent straightening, then curling, then colouring, then blow drying and of course hair iron. None of these anymore. FOR SCALP & HAIR - Anyways, I recently started researching for recipe's for homemade hair masks to heal, lengthen and strengthen my hair. Majority of the recipe's had Castor oil in it and also as a kid my mother would apply castor oil to my eyebrows, to help thicken them. That got me to think and also to invest in this product along with NOW Sweet Almond oil. Just 2 weeks of using this product I felt my hair strands more thicker and noticeably less brittle. I apply a mixture of (NOW castor oil, NOW Almond Oil and Parachute Coconut Oil) twice a week and keep it overnight. I make the homemade mask with (Avocado, Eggs, Banana, Raw honey, NOW castor oil, NOW Almond Oil and Olive oil) every weekend and leave it on for 2 hours and shampoo and condition normal with COLD preferably or luke warm water. Hot water will cook the egg in your hair and I'd much prefer having scrambled eggs in my tummy than on my hair...lol! After every wash I re-apply (a drop of each-Castor, almond, coconut) just to my roots and ends when my hair is very wet, they work great as a leave-in conditioner and my hair doesn't feel greasy after they air dry. Instead they are nice bouncy and shiny Its been a month since I have started the above routine and I am so glad to have found these 2 products that I am hooked for good. I prefer to mix castor oil with Almond because its consistency is quite thick and Almond helps to smooth the application as well as moisturize, whereas castor gets the circulation going. DURING AND AFTER SHAVE - I also add the NOW sweet Almond Oil to my shaving cream or gel to smoothen the shaving process on my legs etc. Apply it after shave as well to avoid dry, itchy skin. EYEBROWS - I have recently tried using mixture of (castor oil and almond oil) on my eyebrows and eyelashes (be careful - avoid your tear ducts area and don't let it go into your eyes). Don't know whether its working on my eyelashes or not cos I am not keeping tabs but definitely noticed new hair growth on my eye brows. I do this before I go to bed. In the morning I take Almond oil on a round cotton ball and swipe over my eye-lids (just like when you attempt to remove eye-makeup) Just to give it a thorough swipe cos of the thickness castor oil contains and then wash your face normally. I suffer from mild to average acne and I feared of breakouts but to my surprise this routine after I washed it off gave a lovely glow around my eyes and forehead. Maybe I'll try just almond oil on face next time when I make my face pack. I am very happy with NOW products, received them in timely manner, in good condition and above all they are so ridiculously CHEAP. I have vowed NOT to buy expensive shampoos or conditioners or soap cos my hair, my scalp and skin are already getting all the nourishment it requires from the above routine's so why spend any more. PLEASE NOTE - Whenever trying anything new preferably do a small test to see if it suits you. Cos what works for one person may not work for everybody.
Review: Castor oil - Works really well, just have to find the perfect mix. The first night I used this on my face I found it to be quite thick and I did use a lot as it was a bit sticky and didn't go on so smoothly, it did considerably absorb into my skin. It does smell like a cooking oil, not bad, just natural. The next day my skin was noticeably softer and the dry wrinkly under eye area was softer and plumper. I didn't have an easier time applying to my legs. I used very little on my hair and it was just too thick for me, so the second night, and each subsequent night I found if you put a bit of lotion in your palm, add a couple drops to that, mix it and apply and problem solved, goes on easy and you get the benefits of the castor oil. After washing my hair, towel dry I add a drop or 2 of oil in my hand to my leave in conditioner, worked great, had nice looking hydrated curls. The same for my legs, I used Cerave lotion and added oil at a greater ratio than for face and had softer skin. I like the results. I can adjust the ratio depending on level of dryness. I also apply a little oil to my eyelashes at night.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How do I use this product on my scalp and hair?**
A: For my scalp: I put this castor oil in a glass eyedropper container. I warm it up to make it thinner. I use a comb to part my hair at progressive intervals and put a single drop directly onto my scalp about 1 inch apart along the parts, being careful to stay 1.5 inches away from my hair line. In all, I put about one drop for roughly every square inch of scalp-- less than 0.5 oz in total. Then I massage the oil into my scalp with my fingertips for a few minutes to even out the distribution. Sometimes I use a blow dryer on low heat to further distribute the castor oil and aid absorption into my scalp. Note: I do this on dry clean hair and it does not look oily afterward. The trick is to apply only one drop at a time directly onto the scalp. My hair grows thicker with less breakage and much less hair lost in my comb.

For the rest of my hair, if it looks dry or frizzy, I put one or two drops of castor oil (from an eye dropper so they are small drops) onto my palms. I rub my palms together to warm up the oil. At this point it looks like my palms have been moisturized-- I can't really see the oil. Then I lightly rub my palms into my dry hair, starting at the ends and working up toward the scalp. It makes my hair look shiny and healthy like I just got a fresh haircut.

Castor oil has done great things for my hair but I have to be careful when I use it because it is so thick and hard to work with.

**Q: does it make our faces greasy?**
A: I use sunflower seed oil 70% , and castor oil 30 % , togather just quarter size . Mix it well and massage well on my face like facial cleaner for at least 15 minute then clean with worm wet towel 7 times..lso cleane the towle every single time on runny hot water..

**Q: Did anyone have success growing longer hair, or fuller eyebrows and longer eyelashes with this? Just to be clear, I don't have bald spots.**
A: It's definitely helped my eyelash growth. About a year ago I started using castor oil for my lashes. I blended it in a roller bottle with about 1/3 castor and 1/3 coconut oil (good for killing off eyelash mites and other things that cause eyelash fall, as well as the fatty acids), and 1/3 pure aloe vera gel. I added around 6 drops each of rosemary, lavender, and peppermint essential oils. Shook hard to emulsify, and roll it on my eyelashes morning and night. Not only is it great for the skin around my eyes, but the peppermint and lavender are nice and cooling. My eyelashes have grown in thicker and fuller. It DOES take time, however. Because of the normal cycle of growth and shedding of your eyelashes, you're not going to get overnight results. Plan on doing this daily for at least 3 months before noticing a real difference. But it's worth it. At this point, I rarely even wear mascara. If I want extra definition, I'll just roll on some of my eyelash serum to add a little darkness and shine before going out. An additional note: castor oil is used frequently in Ayurvedic medicine for eye health and to improve vision, so there are other benefits to doing this besides just the cosmetic ones.

**Q: can i use it with a flat iron?**
A: I have never used it with a flat iron but I wouldn't suggest it. Maybe after you have flat iron your hair if you want to add some extra shine to your hair you can put the castor oil on but not while you are still applying heat.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for Hair

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty impressed.
*by B***E on February 24, 2017*

So I am using this for hair growth. I'm a pretty sceptical person but I needed to try this. I would've never purchased this if I didn't need it. to be perfectly honest, I didn't think it would work. Nothing works anymore right? I chose this because it was the best deal I could find for the least amount. I didn't want to have a gallon of this stuff. Even with this bottle I will NEVOR be able to finish it. I've always liked my eyebrows thin. Not crazy thin, they looked acceptable to anyone, but after years and years of plucking they have noticeably diminished. As time went on and I've tried to regrow them, less and less grows back. I'm embarrassed all the time. I started using eyebrow gel and powder to give them volume which works well, but covering them will gel doesn't help the growing process at ALL. I'm scared of one day having to paint or draw them on. I've paid a lot of money looking for those regrowth systems made for eyebrows and I see absolutely no change. When I tried this I got a mascara tube with a gel brush instead of a spoolie. I filled the tube on my own and just take about a drop for each brow and spread it every where I want growth. Its very very important to not put too much on. You don't want to clog pores or drown your cuticles. I wipe the excess off my brows to the point there's just a small amount of shine but skin can breathe. I saw dramatic results in TWO days. I couldn't believe it! Of course it wasn't fully grown in and it was still patchy but there were a lot of hairs just beginning to grow. They were thick hairs too. Its truly amazing how well this works! Its so inexpensive and I have no question of whether this works. Sometimes I forget to put it on for a few days and growth slows way down. I'm so glad I'll finally get my eyebrows back. Its been a little over a month and I still have to powder them because of patches. But I have NO doubt they will come in. Before you spend 50$ on a 2ml tube of absolute crap, try this one. I know that different Castor oil work differently for specific purposes. But THIS one right here is IT for hair growth. Its not edible this one is meant for skin and beauty. You can't lose! I won't ever need another bottle again but if I did I would get this one again. My confidence is coming back fast. Now to find something like this for weight ;)
