Had to buy a large container for it as the Birdies found it & almost got into it. So the volume savings was lost - but I guess when we run out (2 cockatiels - this will last a while) & we buy again - we will save. 4 stars because it's one big bag. Of note - if you are switching from seed to pellet - you can't slowly increase the amount of pellet - our Birdies wouldn't eat it if seed was around - so "COLD TURKEY" - just switch - they will eat it when the get hungry - & as I said - will try to get into the bag if it's out. I had the same issue with this.This is medium, but don't go by the picture. I have 2 bags of medium, 1 with a blue and gold macaw and 1 with a grey. As I said, they are both medium. The circle under the cockatiel picture looks like it has a red circle around it. The large is for African grey and similar-sized birds. I have used the large for sun conures, but they waste too much of it, whereas suns and smaller (e.g., green cheek) conures do well on the medium. If I had smaller yet parrots, (e.g., budgies), I'd use the small size (which is also carried). I might even use the small size for cockatiels, as I'd bet they waste a lot of the medium.
