**Q: Does the speaker prevent your bed partner from hearing the music?  That's what I am trying to acheive.**
A: If the amplifier is on with the volume at max loudness, your bed partner would have to have the hearing of a bat to hear tv or music.  If you have the speaker under just a little bit of a pillow, she'd have to be akin to a superhero to hear anything.   Specifically --- I doubt if your bed partner will be able to hear whatever you're listening to.

**Q: Will this be audible under a foam pillow?**
A: Yes! I have several memory foam pillows of different thicknesses and the Sangean speaker works with all of them. The Sangean pillow speaker has both an inline amplifier and an inline volume control. It is imporant to also adjust the volume of your smartphone, radio, or other device.

**Q: does it need batteries**
A: Hi Bziporah!  Batteries are not required to operate this device.

**Q: How is the sound quality for music?  Rich?  Tinny?  Thanks!**
A: This a low-fi speaker.  I use it for listening to the radio in the morning before I am ready to get out of bed.  The sound of the music is OK, but if that is your main reason for using a pillow speaker, you might reconsider.

I've been using these pillow speakers for many years. They work well and sound great. They have a volume control which makes it easy to adjust the volume rather than have to adjust the volume on your phone or other device it may be plugged into. A slight negative is that after years of use the wires become a little stiff and sometimes fray. Otherwise I will give them 5 Stars.
