I filled one with a bar of soap and a bit left over of another bar of soap I had. The quality of these soap pouches is good. After putting the soaps in the pouch I closed the string tightly and put it in my shower. I took a shower and used the soap pouch. I wasn't sure how well the soap would lather up inside the pouch since there seems to be a few layers of material between the soap and the outside layer but it lathered up just fine. I like the way it exfoliates my skin. It's not too rough on my skin like some other exfoliating sponges, etc can be.
