It's hard to imagine how it could since I think it's just a circuit that gets switched to whatever input you are using. **Q: I have the spdif 4x2 and it does not seem to automatically switch to the input giving signal. i can only manually switch. am i doing something wrong?** A: This unit does not have any automatic input/output switching. However, with the remote you can easily switch inputs and outputs without being in close proximity. **Q: Is the picture shown for the 4x2 correct because the J-Tech website doesn't show a product with this picture. It has a different 4x2 product picture.** A: No the picture is wrong, and in fact is different to the one that was on the product when i purchased.Its White, a bit thicker that that, but shorter length wise. One HDMI in, one HDMI out, One mini USB power in, one 3.5mm audio jack out. This product indicated that it was a "true matrix", i.e. capable of feeding any input to any output. It failed to mention that it acted only as a spliter, with no mixing capacity. If you're looking for a versatile spliter with a a ir remote this product will be perfect for you.
