Without it, I was unable to use the camcorder. It works as well as the original. My camcorder charges up and holds that charge for about 2 hours of use, or with the adapter attached, I can work for hours downloading and editing the movies I have made using the camcorder attached to my computer. I am extremely happy with this buy! Also, it was shipped to me within 2 days and I received it in less than a week from the time I ordered it. ### ⭐⭐⭐ It works, not a lot of current though *by C***O on December 1, 2018* It didn't provide enough current to run the camera without charging the battery first... but it's not a huge deal, but if you plan on using this without a battery, you might experience random shutdowns. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Adapter :) *by R***A on April 3, 2014* Perfect replacement part...works great and is priced just right.
