I wear them for running and a general use sock when I wear athletic shoes. They have a fair amount of cushion, but breath well are comfortable in the Texas heat.I wear 2 pairs of socks when running to prevent blisters and use these as an outer cushion sock, with a thinner liner sock.I have 3 pair that I have had for over a year with heavy using and they are holding up great,and have since bought several more since the 3 pair were getting heavy rotation.My son has also "borrowed" these a few times and loves them as well, so I am considering getting some for him.The only negative is that these tend to run a little small. This actually turned out well for me since Medium is usually a little small and large is usually too big. I bought these socks because my husband let me wear his store bought ones and I loved them. I ordered the exact same ones and right away I knew they were different. The store bought ones are more contoured to the middle of the foot giving a light pressure of comfort. With arthritis in both feet, I found that this was the kind of sock I needed. The socks I recieved were, well, just a sock. My husband even noticed and could easily tell they weren't the same. The packaging was exactly the same but the sock was not.
