Feels about the density you'd expect of your average metal, presumably because tin's density is pretty average as metals go. 1.015lbs. Shiny and looks reasonably pure. Almost looks like what you'd expect an ingot of silver to look like, but not as dense. It's stamped "tin" and something that's probably a serial number using moveable type. I'll test the surface with a lead test kit; if it comes back positive will update the review. I don't have a spectroscopy tester to check the full composition.

A: As I recall, the length was approximately 3 inches. However, from what I understand, the length, width and thickness can vary. The ingot however, is very pure, melts easily, and is perfect for experimental work. I trust this helps, as metal producers vary the dimensions of their final products, considerably.

**Q: Is it safe to coat my cooking pans with?**
A: It is very pure tin safe for cooking pans. I did a few copper pots. sand them down really well and use flux.

If you are into unconventional but traditional gifts for your 10 year this is it. Yeah it's just a bar of Tin and it doesn't claim to be anything more than that. But it's got some weight to it in your hand and it's just being it's best self as a bar of Tin.
