ProtectaClear will gas off at about 660 degrees F. You just want to make sure that your range top is real stainless steel and does not have a plastic coating on it. There are some appliances that have a plastic coating to make it look like brushed stainless steel. The ProtectaClear is a solvent based coating that should not be used on soft plastics. It works great on real stainless steel. **Q: Can I use this on my refrigerator to keep sulfur from corroding the pipes?** A: We would recommend using our Everbrite Coating to protect copper pipes from sulfur.
