I place this in the under sink cabinet and it works quite well.NOTICE! If you place it directly under your metallic sink, it may confuse the sensor causing it not to close after opening. I have mine placed about 2 inches from the edge of the cabinet door and it works fine.There is an access port on the right side which holds a bit of fragrance and a tiny bag of carbon. Given we use it as a "green bin", it doesn't do much. The opening is a bit small but does the job.The garbage can has a bag retaining ring which is a huge plus. In the picture, it's the black part between the stainless steel body and the white/silver top unit. There is a manual open/close button if for some reason you want to push buttons.Overall, it's a keeper and I've only taken one star off for the small opening.
