Can these be used for such purpose?** A: No. Not if they'll be near fire. They aren't fireproof. Although if you're leaving your ceramic tile in place you would still have that. These are vinyl. Could you maybe put black 4" ceramic around the opening closest to the fire. Then place these after that. You may have to double up on the vinyl tiles to match the thickness of the ceramic. The other thing is I think I have seen ceramic tiles with this pattern on them too. Or at least close **Q: Hi, are this easy to remove? Anyone tried?** A: Usually easy to remove but depends on floor below. eg over tile would be ok **Q: I would like to these on the floor of the cabinet under my kitchen sink. The floor is currently plywood.
