Should you wish to use the kit to make additional candles beyond those that are included, we recommend purchasing consumables (wax, jars, FOs, etc.) on Amazon or other candle supply websites. There are quite a few things that come into play when creating a candle (e.g. type of wax, amount/type/quality of fragrance oil, wick size, diameter of container, etc.) and changing even one of these factors, will affect candle performance. This is why professional candlemakers test different recipes and conduct burn tests to see which combination of factors performs the best. This complete starter kit was created with everything already pre-measured and tested to work together so that beginners could jump right in, get a feel for the process and create a professional quality candle without having to do all the research and testing usually required. Although you could theoretically substitute one fragrance oil for another, this new blend may not perform as well (i.e. fragrance oil may be of lower quality and produce a weaker scent throw, or it may require a different wick size if this new recipe produces a melting pool that is too large/small). If the candle is just for personal use, this shouldn’t be too big of a problem, but if you’re interested in starting candle making as a business, you’d definitely want to conduct your own testing as straight substitutions won’t yield equivalent results.
