On some bad, deep paint damage it worked wonders and I could barely tell that the paint was damaged down to the metal surface, but on the shallow and thinner scratches, I couldn't get quite as good of an application - and when I tried smoothing it out it just smears over the unscratched area. Looks a heck of alot better than the rock gouge that was in my hood. I dabbed the paint pen in a scrap piece of plastic first and then used on my hood.1st pic is up close to show repair.
