I heard a melodious clank, cursed, then came back to see my pan cracked across the bottom. I am replacing it, because I love it so much, and the 4 quart is just the right size for deep-frying grebel, a Christmas dish my family loves. **Q: What is the difference between the Lodge L10DOL3 Pre-Seasoned Dutch Oven and the Lodge Pro-Logic P12D3 Cast Iron Dutch Oven?** A: This one has handles that slant up and the Lodge L10DOL3 handles are flat. (actually easier for seasoning it)This one has a lid with concentric rings, while the other one has drip points, not rings. (seems easier to season) That's why I got this one.As a note, I got this when it cost the same as the other model. I don't think it's worth paying extra. **Q: Under the lid, does it have self basting drip points?** A: Mine does not have the self basting drip points. For safety sake I will be handing this off to someone else. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What's Not To Like About This Lodge Pro Logic Dutch Oven *by J***E on March 27, 2020* This is the best Lodge dutch oven i have ever seen. The handles are perfect, even that little bow handle on the lid. The bottom has a raised ring that helps you properly center it on the burner on the stove top and the lid closes into the pot so that it is down into the pot somewhat, and it makes a much better seal than any cast iron pot i have ever used before. I purchased this pot to replace a Le Creuset that is just under four quarts, because over the years the Le Creuset pots suffer degradation of the inside finish. Scorch something in one of them a bit and spend who knows how long cleaning it up to a point where you feel good about it again and if you scorch it a few times over the years that off white finish looks anything but good. This new Lodge Pro Logic has a black finish that looks as though it is painted on after very careful sanding and finishing repeatedly; but it is apparently just a regular cast iron that has been specially heat treated. Not sure how they do it but they have a winner in this design. Great handles, extremely nice finish and a lid that fits better than any other makes this a great pot. I use this size pot to cook chuck roast sized for the two of us and nothing does it any better. For my money, it feels great to get something this nice at this price point.
