They both came within days of ordering, in a sealed baggie with the SCOBY(s) in another sealed baggie. They came in a box, very sturdy to withstand shipping. There is enough starter Kombucha to get going on your first batch (might add 1/4 c vinegar to it to help the probiotics along).My first single SCOBY has been used for about five batches of black tea Kombucha now, and has generated at least one baby SCOBY. I continue to use the container as a continuous batch Kombucha, fomenting 5-7 days, and the Kombucha is wonderful every time.The double SCOBY came packaged in two different baggies, perfect to share! I used my second SCOBY to generate a batch of Jun, or green tea and honey Kombucha. The other in that set was given to a friend to start her own Kombucha. She was very happy with it. My second SCOBY has generated two batches Jun, and has also doubled and tripled in size.The SCOBY orders also came with a card with PoseyMom's website, which has very clear and good instructions on how to make Kombucha. If you follow them like I did, you should have a nice batch of Kombucha in a week or so after you start. You will need a gallon glass jar, coffee filter, large rubber band, tea bags, and sugar. I also store my Kombucha in quart mason jars (purchased separately) which are inexpensive and reusable.I used to make Kombucha a long time ago, and wanted to start up again. When I started making Kombucha, I got my scoby from a friend. While the scoby worked, it was a slow process, and even after months, I never felt like my kombucha production was very good. After a busy season and making a batch of vinegar from neglect, I decided to start over and buy a scoby rather than getting one from a friend, Seriously happy with that decision. I ordered two- shipping was fast. I was concerned about the effect of the cold since I ordered at the end of December, however after allowing the scobies to come to room temperature, I made two gallons of kombucha with my regular process. Each scoby came in a Baggie with starter tea. Two weeks later, the original scobies have generated two beautiful new, thick, healthy scobies almost a half inch thick and my freshly bottled kombucha looks fantastic. My old scobies NEVER were as healthy as these new ones are. On the next batch I'll be able to start an additional two gallons of kombucha. VERY happy with this product! WOW! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Healthy-looking little scoby! *by L***A on Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2020* Scoby arrived in great condition, size was as pictured, about a half inch thick and around 4 inches in diameter. Good amount of starter tea, bubbles, and little bits of yeast floating around, all promising signs. Scoby floated to the bottom which is not unusual and isn’t a bad sign. I’ve been brewing kombucha for 5 years but took a very long break this year. I lost track of feeding my scobies and sadly they died. I was heartbroken and upset with myself because those scobies were descendants of my very first one, so I ordered a new scoby immediately. I’m excited to see how this develops over the next week and will take great care of this new scoby. I normally brew with green tea but decided to go with black since that is what the scoby Is used to according to the product description, just to be on the safe side. For anyone wondering, you can transition a black tea scoby to green tea, I recommend doing it slowly by gradually increasing the green tea ratio with each batch.UPDATE, 7 MONTHS LATER: the first brew was very tart which I assume is a result of strong starter tea. If that happens, don’t give up!
